Important Dates (Academic Calendar)


Priority Registration for Spring 2015 Semester

October 20 - December 12, 2014 - Spring 2015 registration in person for continuing, new, transfer, and re-admit students

October 20, 2014 - January 9, 2015 - Spring 2015 registration online for continuing, transfer, and re-admit students

Financial Aid Deadlines for Spring 2015 Semester

  • 2014-2015 FAFSA Spring Priority Deadline: Monday, October 20, 2014 FAFSA must be processed by the federal government by this date.
  • 2014-2015 FAFSA First Spring Document Deadline: Friday, November 14, 2014 All documents must be submitted by this date to be considered for an award letter and eligible for a bookstore credit.
  • First Financial Aid Satisfactory Academic Progression Appeal Deadline: December 12, 2014 Appeal and supporting documentation must be submitted by deadline in order to be reviewed in time to secure classes (no bookstore credit).
  • Last date for Satisfactory Academic Progression Financial Aid Appeal Deadline: January 9, 2015 Appeal and supporting documentation must be submitted by deadline in order to be considered. Students who miss the first appeal deadline must be prepared to pay the entire balance out of pocket, but can be reimbursed if Financial Aid appeal is approved and processed.

4:30 p.m. Last date for Satisfactory Academic Progression Financial Aid Appeal Deadline Students can submit their Satisfactory Academic Progression Appeal Application; however, in order to secure classes, students will need to pay out of pocket. If the student is denied, he/she will have to continue to pay any scheduled payments on the payment plan.  If students are approved, they will need to continue to pay any scheduled payments on the payment plan until funding is posted to student account.

Last date to submit Satisfactory Academic Progression Appeal Application – transfer and late registration students-no more appeals will be taken after this date.

Initial Disbursement Date

Federal regulations require that the College delay delivering the proceeds of educational loans to first-time borrowers until 30 days after the start of classes. Therefore, student loan funds for first-time borrowers will not be disbursed to their accounts until February 23, 2015.
14 - 18 Saturday - Wednesday Mardi Gras holidays, no classes
23 Monday, 9 a.m. Accepting Financial Aid Satisfactory Academic Progression for the SPRING SECOND START-appeal and supporting documentation must be submitted in order to be reviewed in time to secure classes (no bookstore credit).
24 Tuesday, 6:30 p.m. Final day for dropping Minisession One courses with a “W”
27 Friday, 4:30 p.m. Second deadline to apply for May graduation. After this date a “late fee” will be assessed.

MARCH


6 Friday LCTCS Faculty/Staff Conference Day, no classes
10 Tuesday, 8 a.m. Beginning of midterm exams
11 Wednesday Minisession One final exams
13 Friday, 4:30 p.m. Last date to apply for May graduation.  Applications received after this date will be processed for December graduation.
