Financial Aid Deadlines for Spring 2016 Semester

  • 2015-2016 Federal Student Loans: To apply for an educational loan to help pay the cost of attending school - Spring 2016 only students - you must have received a response to your FAFSA. The priority deadline to apply for a loan is October 30, 2015. (Fall 2015 students, who attended in the fall, do not need to complete another FAFSA for Spring 2016, unless you were not packaged for the academic year.)
  • 2015-2016 FAFSA Spring Document Deadline: Friday, November 13, 2015 - All documents must be submitted by this date to be considered for an award letter and eligible for a bookstore credit.
  • Spring 2015-2016 First Financial Aid Satisfactory Academic Progression Appeal Timeline: November 9 - December 11, 2015 - Appeal and supporting documentation must be submitted by deadline in order to be reviewed in time to secure classes.
  • Spring 2015-2016 Last date to submit Satisfactory Academic Progression Financial Aid Appeal - Application Deadline: January 8, 2016 - Appeal and supporting documentation must be submitted by January 8, 2016 in order to be considered for Spring 2016 financial aid funding. Students who miss the priority or first appeal deadline date of December 11, 2015 must be prepared to pay the entire balance out of pocket, but can be reimbursed if financial aid appeal is approved and all other required documents are processed. Students will not be eligible for a bookstore credit.

Last date to submit Satisfactory Academic Progression Financial Aid Appeal Application. Appeal and supporting documentation must be submitted. Students who miss the priority or first appeal deadline date of December 11, 2015 must be prepared to pay the entire balance out of pocket, but can be reimbursed if financial aid appeal is approved and all other required documents are processed. Students will not be eligible for a bookstore credit.

Deadline for 50% tuition adjustment. After this date, no adjustments are given. Students are responsible for full tuition and fee rates after this date, regardless of withdrawal or attendance.
3 Wednesday

First Financial Aid Disbursement to LoLA student accounts to begin refund process. The expected HigherOne refund date for this disbursement is February 17; however, refunds can take up to 14 days to process.

Federal regulations require that the College delay delivering the proceeds of educational loans to first-time borrowers until 30 days after the start of classes. Therefore, student loan funds for first-time borrowers will not be disbursed to their accounts until February 18, 2016
3 - March 14 Monday - Friday Second Start Registration
5 Friday

Last date to submit Satisfactory Academic Progression Appeal Application - transfer and late registration students-no more appeals will be taken after this date.

6 - 10 Saturday - Wednesday Mardi Gras holidays, no classes
15 Monday Payment Plan installment due.
18 Thursday First-time borrower disbursements to LoLA student accounts to begin refund process. The expected HigherOne refund date for this disbursement is February 26; however, refunds can take up to 14 days to process.
22 Monday Accepting Financial Aid Satisfactory Academic Progression Applications for the SPRING 2016 SECOND START- appeal and supporting documentation must be submitted in order to be reviewed in time to secure classes (no bookstore credit).
23 Tuesday, 6 p.m. Final day for dropping Minisession One courses with a “W”
26 Friday, 4:30 p.m. Second deadline to apply for May graduation. After this date a “late fee” will be assessed.

4 Friday, 4:30 p.m. Last date for Financial Aid Satisfactory Academic Progression Appeal Application - SPRING 2016 SECOND START - Students can submit their Satisfactory Academic Progression Appeal Application; however, in order to secure classes, students will need to pay out of pocket. If the student is denied, he/she will have to continue to pay any scheduled payments on the payment plan. If students are approved, they will need to continue to pay any scheduled payments on the payment plan until funding is posted to student account.
