Student Judicial Procedure
The College’s Student Code of Conduct provides for due process in academic dishonesty and disciplinary matters through the procedures established in the Delgado Student Judicial Procedures. The basic philosophy of the policies and procedures in the Student Code of Conduct is one of education and fair, prompt resolution of problems. The focus of the Code is on growth and development of the individual student by encouraging self-control, by publishing clear behavioral guidelines (rules and regulations) and by fostering the rights and privileges of others.
Violations of academic dishonesty are referred to the instructor or via the Incident Referral Form and will be dealt with through the College’s Student Judicial Procedures, Section I. Due Process for Alleged Academic Dishonesty. Other misconduct violations of the Student Code of Code follow the College’s Student Judicial Procedures, Section II. Due Process/Judicial Procedures and, depending on the severity of the incident, be reported directly to the Office of Student Life via the Incident Referral Form or Campus Police.
For a complete description of the policy and procedures, see the College’s Student Code of Conduct and Student Judicial Procedures, which are available on the College’s website and in the Office of Student Life of each campus or site. In accordance with LCTCS Policy #2.004, Student Conduct and Appeal Procedures, after the student has exhausted all due process procedures at the college level, the student may choose to appeal to the LCTCS Board of Supervisors within thirty (30) calendar days of the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs’ decision.
