Delgado Community College Libraries
The Delgado Community College Libraries hold membership in LALINC (Louisiana Academic Library Information Network Consortium), a partnership of participating libraries whose primary purpose is to develop cooperation and foster resource sharing among Louisiana libraries. LALINC membership enables access to the electronic resources acquired through the services of LOUIS: The Louisiana Library Network. The Delgado libraries provide resources, print and online, for the educational needs of students and the instructional needs of faculty.
The libraries support the college curriculum by providing college-wide access to approximately 150,000 print titles and 120 online databases to assist students and faculty with their educational and research needs. Library computer labs provide access to ISAAC, our online catalog, as well as to over 75,000 electronic journals and 70,000 electronic books. This includes a virtual reference collection of titles commonly found in print on library shelves. The labs also provide access to MS Office, the Internet, Blackboard, Electronic Databases, Chat/Email Reference and recorded Bibliographic Instruction sessions.
Other library services, both on-site and online, include–but are not limited to–the following: reference assistance; circulation; bibliographic instruction; interlibrary loan and LALINC borrowing and lending among participating LA institutions; intra-library loan between Delgado libraries; access to reserve materials, a computer print station, print and microform copiers (City Park and West Bank), magazines and journals in both microfiche (City Park and West Bank) and print; and audio-visual materials (City Park, Slidell, Jefferson, and West Jefferson).
