General Education Requirements

General Education Requirements
The following are approved Fine Arts, Humanities, Social and Behavioral Science, Natural Science, English Composition, and Mathematics/Analytical Reasoning courses that meet program requirements for a degree. Courses used to fulfill General Education requirements do not narrowly focus on those skills, techniques, and procedures specific to a particular occupation or profession; rather, these courses provide a broad-based foundation in the subject area. Students may not use a course in their major to fulfill their General Education degree requirements.
Fine Arts
Courses to fulfill the general education requirements in fine arts must be selected from the following: Humanities
Courses to fulfill the general education requirements in humanities must be selected from the following: Natural Sciences
Courses to fulfill the general education requirement in natural science must be selected from the following: - BIOL - Any biology course with BIOL prefix except BIOL 114 , 161 , and
- CHEM - Any chemistry course with CHEM prefix
- GEOL - Any geology course with GEOL prefix
- PHYS - Any physics course with PHYS prefix
- SCIE - Any physical science course except SCIE 202 , SCIE 130 , and SCIE 132
Social/Behavioral Sciences
Courses to fulfill the general education requirement in social science must be selected from the following: English Composition
Courses to fulfill the general education requirements in English Composition must be selected from the following: Mathematics/Analytical Reasoning
Courses to fulfill the general education requirements in mathematics/analytical reasoning must be selected from the following: - Any mathematics course with the MATH prefix except MATH 020 , 030 , 113 , 114 , 123 , and 124
