Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society

Mission Statement

“The Purpose of Phi Theta Kappa shall be to recognize and encourage scholarship among twoyear college students. To achieve this purpose, Phi Theta Kappa shall provide opportunity for the development of leadership and service, for an intellectual climate for exchange of ideas and ideals, for lively fellowship for scholars, and for stimulation of interest in continuing academic excellence.”

Dear Prospective Member,

Delgado’s Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) welcomes you. Because you have demonstrated academic achievement by maintaining a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher, you are eligible to become a member of Phi Theta Kappa. This organization is recognized as the International Honor Society of Two-Year Colleges.

Membership in this organization is a distinguished honor for our students. To be eligible, you must have both a GPA of 3.0 or higher and completed a minimum of twelve hours of college credit at Delgado. There is a one-time membership fee of $75.

This invitation to become a part of PTK is being extended to you in hope that you will participate in the many advantages and opportunities offered its members. For example, you will receive a Phi Theta Kappa seal on your diploma, be recognized as a PTK graduate at graduation, wear the PTK stole and tassel at graduation, and qualify for selected scholarships at four-year colleges and universities.

Also look for our scholarship opportunities, which can be researched at www.ptk.org.
