ENGL 101 - English Composition I

Introduces students to the critical thinking, reading, writing and rhetorical skills required in the college/university and beyond, including citation and documentation, writing as process, audience awareness; and writing effective essays. Prerequisite(s): Completion of ESLN, a “C” or better in ENGL 062 or ENGL 063, or COMPASS Placement Test score of 71 or higher, or ACT of 18-24. Students with an ACT Score of 25 or higher may be recommened for advanced placement. A student must earn a grade of “C” or better in ENGL 101 to advance to ENGL 102.
