BTEC 285 - Bioinformatics and Bioethics3 lecture hours, no lab hours, 3 credit hours Two distinct disciplines of Bioinformatics and Bioethics. Introduction to the high powered statistical field of bioinformatics occurs in the first half of the semester, while the second half consists of a survey of some of the ethical issues facing scientists today. This class is intended for students in the Biotechnology concentration of the Science Laboratory Technology degree program. Prerequisite(s): Admission to the Science Laboratory Technology program, or “C” or higher in BTEC 274 and BTEC 275, or permission of instructor.
