ENGL 110 - Intensive English Composition I5 lecture hours, no lab hours, 5 credit hours Introduces students to the critical thinking, reading, writing and rhetorical skills required in the college/university and beyond, including citation and documentation, essay writing as a process, and audience awareness. In addition, this course also provides targeted instruction and support in reading comprehension and written communication. Prerequisite(s): Minimum score of 75-85 on the Accuplacer, or an English ACT score of at least 16-17, or a minimum score of 60-70 on Compass. Students must earn a grade of “C” or higher in ENGL 110 to advance to ENGL 102. Students who have already attempted ENGL 099 are not eligible for this course. Course/Lab Fee $30
