ENGL 110 - Intensive English Composition I5 lecture hours, no lab hours, 5 credit hours [LCCN: CENL 1013]
Introduces students to the critical thinking, reading, writing and rhetorical skills required in the college/university and beyond, including citation and documentation, essay writing as a process, and audience awareness. In addition, this course also provides targeted instruction and support in reading comprehension and written communication. Prerequisite(s): “C” or higher in ALIT 099; or, an ACT English score of 16-17; or, a score of 11-12 on the Delgado English readiness assessment survey; or, a score of 75-85 on the Accuplacer Sentence Skills placement exam; or, a score of 240 or higher on the Accuplacer Next Generation Writing placement exam; or, a score of 250 or higher on the Accuplacer Next Generation Writing placement exam combined with a score of 200 or higher on the Accuplacer Next Generation Reading placement exam.
