MATH 099 - Algebra Foundations II

3 lecture hours, no lab hours, 3 credit hours
Foundation of additional algebraic skills for students to gain understanding of algebra before taking an entry level college math course.  The major topics include polynomials and factoring, rational expressions and equations, radical expressions and equations, and solving and graphing with quadratics. Prerequisite(s):
  • Accuplacer Next Generation QAS Placement Test Score of 250 or higher OR;
  • Accuplacer Next Generation AAF Placement Test Score of 250 or higher OR;
  • ACT Mathematics score of 17 or higher OR;
  • High school transcript less than two years old with the completion of Algebra I, Algebra II, and Geometry with grades of “C” or higher AND a cumulative high school GPA of 2.5.
