MATH 140 - Precalculus5 lecture hours, no lab hours, 5 credit hours Replaces MATH 130: College Algebra and MATH 131: Trigonometry as preparation for calculus. Topics include quadratic equations, systems of linear equations, inequalities, functions, graphs, exponential and logarithmic functions, complex numbers, theory of equations, trigonometric functions, graphs, solving triangles and equations, vectors, and polar coordinates. This course is intended for calculus bound students. Prerequisite(s):
- Completion of MATH 097, MATH 099, MATH 114, or SPSM 099 with a minimum grade of “C” OR;
- Accuplacer Next Generation QAS Placement Test score of 263 or higher OR;
- Accuplacer Next Generation AAF Placement Test score of 250 or higher OR;
- ACT Mathematics score of 24 or higher.
