SCIE 161 - Introduction to Geographic Information Systems

3 lecture hours, no lab hours, 3 credit hours
Concepts, capabilities, and applications of geographic information systems (GIS).  Topics include theories and technical aspects of GIS-based mapping, coordinate systems, data collection and analysis.  Hands-on training in map design, processing and editing spatial datasets, geodatabase management, and metadata preparation. Course/Lab Fee $30
