CHEM 223 - Organic Chemistry Lab INo lecture hours, 3 lab hours, 1 credit hour

A first semester organic chemistry lab. The student will demonstrate proficiency in a microscale organic laboratory pertaining to: chemical information, safe handling, use and disposal of organic compounds, and synthetic procedures (including isolation, recrystallization, distillation, reflux, separation and structure elucidation of obtained products). Prerequisite(s): Completion of CHEM 142 and CHEM 144 with a grade of “C” or higher. Corequisite(s): CHEM 221. Course/Lab Fee $50
