DMSU 261 - Ultrasound Obstetrics and Gynecology I2 lecture hours, no lab hours, 2 credit hours Study of the anatomy, physiology, normal and abnormal development, and sonography of the female reproductive system. The course includes the ultrasound appearance and lab values of benign, malignant, and infective diseases of the uterus and ovaries as well as the hormonal influences of the gravid, premenopausal, postmenopausal and menopausal uterus and overies. The course includes sequencing of events and ultrasound change in appearance leading up to and including fertilization, implantation, and embryonic period. Note(s): The prerequisite for all first-semester courses is admission into the Ultrasound program. The prerequisite for all second- and third-semester courses is successful completion of all previous courses in the Ultrasound program.
