BTEC 285 - Bioinformatics and Bioethics

3 lecture hours, no lab hours, 3 credit hours
Two distinct disciplines of Bioinformatics and Bioethics.  Introduction to the high-powered statistical field of bioinformatics occurs in the first half of the semester, while the second half consists of a survey of some of the ethical issues facing scientists today.  This class is intended for students in the Biotechnology concentration of the Science Laboratory Technology degree program. Prerequisite(s): Admission to the Science Laboratory Technology program, or “C” or higher in BTEC 274, or permission of instructor.
