CERTIFICATE OF TECHNICAL STUDIES PROGRAM
DIVISION: BUSINESS AND TECHNOLOGY
The tremendous growth of the Internet has created an explosion of Web pages-both business and personal. With the race to take advantage of the limitless possibilities of the Web, there is an increased demand for professionals skilled in designing, developing, and maintaining Web pages. This certificate program will provide students with the skills and knowledge necessary for a career in web design including training in the technology and business aspects of web design. Completers of this certificate program will be prepared to take Industry Based Certification examinations related to web programming, such as Certified Internet Webmaster (CIW) JavaScript Specialist exam.
Prospective students should be proficient with the Windows operating system and be able to manage files, move, change, cut/paste, resize, and manage multiple windows. Additionally, prospective students should be familiar with the World Wide Web. Students lacking the necessary skills should first take Computer & Internet Literacy (CMIN 201 ) or Survey of Computer Applications (ADOT 105 ). These classes will not count toward the required 24 credit hours.
