Transfer Degree, A.S.

The Associate of Science Louisiana Transfer degree program is designed to facilitate transfer from community colleges in the Louisiana Community and Technical College System to related Baccalaureate of Science degree programs at public universities in the Louisiana State University System, the Southern University System, and the University of Louisiana System. The purpose of the Associate of Science Louisiana Transfer degree program is to provide rigorous general education coursework coupled with related preparatory instruction in several pre-defined discipline specific tracks to allow seamless transition from Associate degree to Baccalaureate degree with maximization of credits awarded. The degree will transfer as a total block, rather than by individual course review.

The total credit hours required for degree is 60, with 39 hours required in approved General Education coursework and the remaining 21 credit hours consisting of pre-approved discipline-specific coursework as preparatory coursework for continued studies in a related Baccalaureate of Science degree program.  At the time of publication, specific course-work and discipline-specific tracks are undergoing final review by the Board of Regents for Louisiana Higher Education.  For assistance in selecting the most appropriate courses, students should contact an academic advisor.
