(Air-Conditioning) Certified HVAC Technician, C.T.S.


CERTIFICATE OF TECHNICAL STUDIES PROGRAM
DIVISION: TECHNICAL DIVISION

The Certified HVAC Technician program will provide the majority of intensive training needed for the skills needed for any type or branding of HVAC/R equipment. Residential clients will present a profitable trade for gainfully employed technicians. Individual employers or manufacturers will employ continuing education for skills unique to the position attained. The Certificate of Technical Studies program is accredited by the Committee on HVAC Excellence. Student Learning Outcomes:

Upon successful completion of the Certified HVAC Technician Certificate of Technical Studies program, the learner will be able to:

  • Identify various components of HVAC systems, comprehend their functions, and apply safety procedures in hands-on analysis and usage of current industry tools (SLO # 1)
  • Perform correct procedures for application design of HVAC systems, and identify the correct application of jurisdictional codes involved in installations (SLO # 2)
  • Identify and perform diagnostic techniques of electrical/electronic components of HVAC control systems (SLO # 3)
  • Operate, install, maintain, and repair residential HVAC systems in accordance with EPA guidelines (SLO # 4)
