Banking and Lending Assistant, C.T.S.


CERTIFICATE OF TECHNICAL STUDIES PROGRAM
DIVISION: BUSINESS AND TECHNOLOGY
 
The goal of the Banking and Lending Assistant Certificate program is to provide fundamental knowledge and skills to individuals seeking entry-level positions in the retail banking industry- primarily in branch banking and direct customer sales.  Career options include bank teller, new account clerk, statement clerk, bill and account collectors, and loan interviewers. 
 
All courses in the Certificate program may be applied to the Associate of Applied Science Degree in Business & Management, with a concentration in Banking and Lending Assistant.  Learn more about this program.  
 
STUDENT LEARNING OUTCOMES:
 
Upon successful completion of the Banking and Lending Assistant Certificate of Technical Studies program, the learner will be able to:
  • Explain the fundamental principles of economics, money, and banking (SLO # 1)
  • Explain basic retail banking products (SLO # 2)
  • Evaluate competitive banking products (SLO # 3)
  • Use analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills applicable to customer service in a retail banking environment (SLO # 4)
  • Effectively use professional business communication skills (SLO # 5)
