SCHOOL OF SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY, ENGINEERING, AND MATH
The primary objective of the Electrical-Electronics Engineering Technology program is to prepare students to become Engineering Technicians. A graduate of the program will have both a theoretical and practical knowledge of the construction, application, properties, operation, and limitations of engineering systems and processes. All courses in the ELET Program consist of theory and laboratory applications.
The Electrical-Electronics Engineering Technology Program is accredited by the Engineering Technology Accreditation Commission of ABET, http://www.abet.org.
The program emphasizes three areas: Instrumentation and Process Control, Electrical Power, and Electronics. Courses may be transferred to four-year institutions that offer a Bachelor of Science Degree in Technology.
Student Learning Outcomes:
Upon successful completion of the Electrical-Electronics Engineering Technology Associate of Science program, the learner will be able to:
- Apply the knowledge, techniques, skills, and modern tools of mathematics, science, engineering, and technology to solve well-defined engineering problems appropriate to the discipline (SLO #1)
- Design solutions for well-designed technical problems and assist with the engineering design of systems, components, or processes appropriate to the discipline (SLO #2)
- Apply written, oral, and graphical communication in well-defined technical and non-technical environments; identify and use appropriate technical literature (SLO #3)
- Conduct standard tests and measurements; and, conduct, analyze, and interpret experimental results (SLO #4)
- Function effectively as a member of a technical team (SLO #5)
- Explain the need for and engage in self-directed continuing professional development (SLO #6)
- Address professional and ethical responsibilities, including a respect for diversity (SLO #7)
