DEGREE: ASSOCIATE OF SCIENCE
SCHOOL OF BUSINESS

The Associate of Science degree program in Business Administration is designed to prepare students to enroll in a four-year institution immediately upon graduation. This degree is designed to provide the foundation students need to succeed in majors such as Accounting, Business Administration, Management, or Marketing at the baccalaureate level.  The program is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP).

For those students interested in a more career-focused business education, Delgado Community College offers additional business programs listed in this catalog under the headings of Accounting and Business and Management. Students are encouraged to examine those programs as well as consult with an advisor in Business and Technology to determine the educational program that best meets their individual goals.

Student Learning Outcomes:

Upon successful completion of the Business Administration Associate of Science program, the learner will be able to:

  • Perform the management functions (SLO # 1)
  • Analyze business and financial information for decision making (SLO # 2)
  • Analyze economic data (SLO # 3)
  • Assess legal and ethical issues in business situations (SLO # 4)
  • Perform the functions in the marketing mix (SLO # 5)
  • Use business applications software (SLO # 6)
  • Effectively work in teams (SLO # 7)
