CERTIFICATE OF TECHNICAL STUDIES PROGRAM
SCHOOL OF LIBERAL ARTS, SOCIAL SCIENCES, AND EDUCATION
 
The Certificate of Technical Studies in Criminal Justice is a 21-credit hour program that provides students a core curriculum in criminal justice and a practical framework for understanding issues within the American criminal justice system.  All courses in the C.T.S. are applicable to the Associate of Arts in Criminal Justice and prepares students for opportunities in the criminal justice field.
 
Upon successful completion of the Certificate of Technical Studies in Criminal Justice program, the learner will be able to:
  • Create and formulate a worldview that includes an historic foundation of American law and the criminal justice system (SLO #1)
  • Identify and define major components of the criminal justice system (police, courts, and corrections) (SLO #2)
  • Interpret and evaluate the significance and practice of the Constitution and Supreme Court decisions within all compenents of the criminal justice system (SLO #3)
