A number of learning laboratories are available to students at the following Delgado locations:
City Park Campus
Formerly known as the Writing Center, the Center for Writing, Reading, and Communications (CWRC) provides one-on-one coaching for students in composition, reading, and practicing presentations in any subject area across the curriculum. This includes virtual coaching via Zoom and online asynchronous paper feedback for all students regardless of subject or course modality. The CWRC also provides composition workshops, computer resources, and services online as well as in person. Located on the second floor west wing of Isaac Delgado Hall (Building 1, Room 216W), the CWRC is open Monday through Friday during fall and spring semesters, Monday through Thursday during summer session, and online Monday through Saturday during all semesters.
The American Sign Language Skills Lab is located in Building 1, Room 214W and provides software and video services for students enrolled in American Sign Language courses in the School of Liberal Arts, Social Sciences, and Education. The hours are Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. - 4 p.m.
The English as a Second Language (ESL) Listening/Speaking Classroom is located on the second floor of Delgado Hall (Building 1, Room 211W). When not in use for ESL conversation classes, the room serves as an open computer laboratory for students enrolled in the ESL program to work on listening, speaking, pronunciation, and writing activities as directed by the instructors. The lab is open Monday through Friday, fall and spring semesters, and Monday through Thursday during summer session.
The Mathematics Learning Center has paraprofessional tutors available to assist students enrolled in mathematics courses at Delgado. Students enrolled in Delgado courses have access to reference materials as well as computer access for additional study. The Center is open only when classes are in session. The Science Resource Center is designed to help students enrolled in the various science courses offered at Delgado. Students enrolled in Delgado courses have access to reference materials, lab materials, and models as well as computer access for additional study. The Center is open only when classes are in session. The Student Open Computer Lab is located in Building 6, Room 103. This is an open access computer lab, featuring 54 workstations, color and black-and-white printing, scanning, and a copy station. Students may use the Open Lab to complete course assignments, study for tests/quizzes, print course-related documents, send and receive e-mail, and access the internet. A variety of other services are available to students. Student assistants are available to provide guidance when using the Open Lab and its resources. Hours of operation are posted, along with holiday and semester break schedules. Please remember to bring a Delgado photo identification card to access this facility and to use its resources.
West Bank Campus

Delgado Charity School of Nursing
The Delgado Charity School of Nursing has moved to Delgado’s City Park Campus is now housed within the Ochsner Center for Nursing and Allied Health (Building 14). The 120,000-square-foot, state-of-the art building consists of cutting-edge labs and classrooms, with the capacity for over 1,500 students. The contemporary, five story building consists of 16 classrooms, 20 small instructional spaces, and instructional labs for each allied health program.
The Delgado Charity School of Nursing Computer Laboratories consist of two, 60-seat computer labs in the Ochsner Center for Nursing and Allied Health, a 118- seat computer lab in Building 2, and a 72-seat computer lab in Building 2. A 10-computer ADA lab is also available to students who require special accommodations. Students take their nursing examinations on computers utilizing a testing program that provides them with experience in answering NCLEX-RN styles questions to prepare them for their licensure examination. In order to allow greater access for students, the computer laboratories are available Monday through Friday.
The Charity School of Nursing Skills Laboratories consist of two 10-bed, RN Advanced Skills labs, two 10-bed RN Basic Skills Labs, a 10-bed LPN Advanced Skills Lab, seven two-bed LPN fundamental skills labs, and one LPN-Transitions lab. All labs are equipped with hospital beds, furnishings, and equipment arranged in simulated patient care units. There are medical mannequins, models, and durable disposable equipment and supplies for students to practice and demonstrate nursing procedures. Nursing skills laboratories are open Monday through Friday, and weekends as needed.
The Delgado Charity School of Nursing Simulation Hospital is a one-of-a kind, 7,933-square-foot simulation center that consists of fully-equipped patient rooms designed to foster collaboration between nursing allied health programs and enhance student learning. The Center consists of the following areas:
- Two operating rooms
- A pediatric room and a birthing room
- One isolation room
- A pharmacy area
- Eight control rooms for simulation capture
- Two dedicated debriefing rooms with access to small instructional spaces and classrooms
- A nurse’s station
- Prep and storage areas
The Simulation Hospital is equipped with computer-driven, lifelike models that speak, have heartbeats, and pulses, and respond to nursing interventions just as real patients would. This technology provides opportunities for students to utilize nursing knowledge and critical-thinking skills in real-life scenarios.
