DMSU 251 - Ultrasound Practicum INo lecture hours, 8 lab hours, 1 credit hour The student is assigned to a clinical education center(s) to observe and practice sonography skills. Students begin to develop the critical thinking skills needed to correlate the examination with clinical history to obtain diagnostic results. The course focuses on clinical application of standard protocols of the abdomen and pelvis which includes normal and abnormal anatomy. Under the direct supervision of qualified sonographers, the student will begin to acquire the hands-on skills necessary to perform sonographic examinations. Note(s): The prerequisite for all first semester courses is admission into the Ultrasound program. The prerequisite for all second and third semester courses is successful completion of all previous courses in the Ultrasound program. Course/Lab Fee $60
