DEGREE: ASSOCIATE OF APPLIED SCIENCE
SCHOOL OF LIBERAL ARTS, SOCIAL SCIENCES, AND EDUCATION

The Graphic Design program is designed to prepare students for gainful employment in professional art and art-related industries such as advertising design, graphic design, and to prepare them for study at senior institutions.

Student Learning Outcomes:

Upon successful completion of the Visual Communications-Graphic Design Associate of Applied Science program, the learner will be able to:

Create and maintain a body of work that demonstrates a wide range of technical skills and innovative design solutions (SLO #1)
Exhibit professional behavior while working collaboratively with others, giving and receiving constructive criticism, and employing time management (SLO #2)
Explain visual communication concepts and articulate reasoning for design choices using industry vocabulary (SLO #3)
Produce visual design solutions that clearly demonstrate the principles, theories, and concepts of visual communication (SLO #4)
Solve visual design problems by using industry standard tools (SLO #5)
Assess the social, cultural, and technological circumstances when constructing design solutions (SLO #6)
