Water Distribution Operator, C.T.C.

CAREER AND TECHNICAL CERTIFICATE PROGRAM
SCHOOL OF SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY, ENGINEERING, AND MATH

The goal of the program is to aid in the development of a workforce pipeline for water distribution operators and to prepare new and existing water distribution operators for the Louisiana State Operator Certification Exam.  Upon the completion of this certificate program, the student will be able to obtain employment as an entry-level water distribution operator or advance in current employment based on their current operator certification level in industry or government settings.

At the local, regional, and state level there is an understaffed, aging, and retiring water operator workforce.  This set of technical competencies has been developed based on the needs expressed by several public and private entities that are concerned about the present and future of our water services.
