If all applicable transcripts have not been received by the date of registration, students may be admitted provisionally; however, transcripts must be received within 30 days of the first day of class. Transcripts will be evaluated during the student’s first semester at Delgado. Once the evaluation has been completed, a written notification will be mailed to student’s current address. Inquires about the use of a transfer course to meet degree requirements should be directed to the dean of the student’s major.
Transfer Non-Degree seeking students must meet the general admission requirements in addition to the following.
- Request an official transcript to be sent to Delgado’s Admissions and Enrollment Services from the last college or university attended.
Transfer-Suspension

If you earned poor grades while in college and have not attended any institution of higher education for at least three years, you are eligible to apply for academic amnesty during the first semester of enrollment at Delgado. Details are available in the Admissions and Enrollment Services office and the College Catalog online. Re-admit Students

Cross-Enrollment Students

A Delgado cross-enrolled student will also follow the appropriate college or university’s academic calendar and the academic policies of that institution in all matters related to the course(s) at the college or university. The student assumes responsibility for becoming familiar with the calendar and policies of the institution he or she will attend.
Delgado Students
A Delgado student must have completed at least 24 hours at Delgado and have a Delgado cumulative average of at least 2.5 in order to be eligible to cross-enroll at UNO, SLU, SUNO and NCC. Delgado students may take one course at UNO, SLU, SUNO or NCC for each course taken at Delgado, with a maximum of two courses taken at SUNO, UNO, SLU or NCC.
To cross-enroll, a Delgado student must complete the cross-enrollment form and have it signed by the student’s academic advisor and division dean. The student then presents this form along with his/her computer schedule to the Office of the Registrar where the additional tuition for the UNO, SLU, SUNO or NCC courses will be added to the student’s bill. After the student has paid his/her tuition, the cross enrollment form will be signed by the College Registrar. The signed cross-enrollment form must be taken to UNO, SLU, SUNO or NCC. Delgado students can go to these institutions and register there. Call the locations directly for dates and times.
UNO/SUNO/SLU/NCC Students
Delgado Community College has entered into agreements so that students at each of these institutions may enroll in courses on the other locations. Students from UNO/SUNO/SLU/NCC interested in cross-enrolling at Delgado should contact the Registrar at their locations for the crossregistration form and procedures. They should then proceed to the Office of the Registrar to begin the registration process at Delgado. Students must proceed immediately to the Bursar’s office for payment. No fees other than the Student Service fee, Enterprise Resource planning fee, and laboratory fees for specific courses will be charged at Delgado for these courses. UNO/SUNO/SLU/NCC students with signed forms may register at Delgado during Delgado’s designated regular registration dates, as listed in the Academic Calendar.
Students will not be permitted to register at Delgado and later change their status to a cross enrolled student.
Non High School Graduates
The Ability to Benefit (ATB) test is required for applicants who are not high school graduates. The College may admit only those students who have demonstrated their ability to benefit from the training they would receive here.
If you are over 17 years old and if you
- are not a graduate of a regionally accredited high school
OR
- do not hold a GED diploma
then you must demonstrate that you have the ability to benefit from college training by passing an ATB test. The ATB test is available only in English. Students who do not pass the ATB test may enroll in up to 11 credit hours while they improve their reading, writing, and mathematics skills. However, students are not eligible for financial assistance until they pass the ATB or until they have fulfilled other admission requirements. ATB scores are valid indefinitely. |
